The conference will include different activities and games that will challenge your growth as an individual.  Various speakers will share how they overcame as a burn survivor and a formal banquet and dance will be held.  There will also be an opportunity for you to share your story and to motivate others who are attending the conference.  The sessions’ topics will include; overcoming depression, identity formation, coping with hidden scars, coping with visible scars, life after an injury, is college for me, financial management and more.


Dates: March 7-10th, 2013


Administrative excuses will be given to those survivors who will be missing school. However, they will only be given upon request.



Transportation:

You will be contacted regarding transportation to the conference once your application has been completed and approved.  OUT OF STATE ATTENDEES please note; although this is a free event, you will be responsible for your own transportation to the Tulsa area, the airport code is (TUL).

What to expect at the Burn Conference.

What to Bring:
• Sleeping Bag- Very Important**
• Warm and comfortable clothes (3 nights, 4 days)
• Jacket
• Pillow
• Towel
• Comfortable shoes for walking
• Personal Hygiene items (deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, etc.)
• Formal Dinner Attire:
      Ladies- Please wear favorite Semi-Formal outfit for this event.  Such as a nice   dress or a suit.
     Gentlemen- Please wear a tie, collared shirt, and nice slacks.



What Not to Bring:

• Alcohol
• Non-Prescription Drugs
• Any weapons (including pocket knives)
• Anything expensive or items you don’t want lost or broken
